A few years ago I was looking for fun activities for my comprehension workstation. I came across the idea of turning garden gloves into retell gloves. This was a great idea but the gloves were expensive, the markers bled on the material and I wasn't that happy with the way they turned out. A few weeks ago I decided to make my own retell gloves out of card stock and clip art. This is what I came up with...
I made my original glove (story elements) and added more for comprehension strategies that we've been working on in the classroom. The gloves are held together with a loose-leaf book ring. I've used them at the guided reading table and placed a few sets at workstations. The kids love them!
